Chennai, February 19th, 2024: Kynhood Technologies, is a new-gen media service platform, that has launched KYN, A First of its Kind Truly Hyper-local App that strengthens communities, today. Dr. PTR Palanivel Thiagarajan, Minister for Information Technology and Digital Services, Government of Tamil Nadu launched the app. ‘KYN’, an acronym for Know Your Neighbourhood, aims to facilitate seamless communication within the hyper local community.
Introducing the app, Ms. Gayathri Thyagarajan, CEO, Kynhood Technologies said, “Kyn is the ONLY platform that triangulates television, print, and social media for the hyperlocal community. Chennai, our first market, has been divided into 14 zones and each zone will have its own television, print and social media. Kyn is a platform not only for promoting talent - arts, sports, entertainment etc. It will also help home entrepreneurs and small businesses in neighbourhoods grow their market place. Besides this, as there is a finite number of residents in each area, influencers even with smaller follower count, can make a bigger impact in the neighbourhoods. We also provide a great opportunity for established brands to promote and customise their offerings in each hyperlocal zone. Kyn will have both publisher- and user-generated content, all carefully curated to provide users with high-quality entertainment and information about everything in their neighbourhood”.

Gayathri Thyagarajan, is the founder and CEO of Kynhood, She has over two decades of versatile experience across Media, Financial services and Technology firms in London, New York, Zurich, Singapore and India.
On returning to India in 2022, she observed that globalization has shifted media focus on international, national and state news, events and entertainment. Yet, the most important sphere of a person’s life goes unnoticed – the neighbourhood, where they grew up and where they live in.
As people are increasingly turning to digital media for information and entertainment, the idea to create a very unique app to connect neighbourhoods and communities was envisioned.
