Chennai, March 9, 2023: Tamil Nadu has always been a melting pot of diverse talent. Several eminent personalities from the state gained global recognition with their extraordinary talent and willpower. Celebrating this strength in talent, ITC Sunfeast Supermilk ‘SUPERKIDS Award 2023’, is an endeavor to celebrate, encourage and support exceptional young achievers from across the state.

 

The first edition of ITC Sunfeast Supermilk ‘SUPERKIDS Award 2023’ was held at a glittering event at ITC Grand Chola. Mrs. Sneha Prasanna, the Brand Endorser, and Mr. Ali Harris Shere, Chief Operating Officer, Biscuits & Cakes Cluster, Foods Division, ITC Ltd., presented the trophies to the prodigies for their exceptional achievements in the respective fields.

Celebrating this strength in talent, ITC Sunfeast Supermilk ‘SUPERKIDS Award 2023’, is an endeavor tocelebrate, encourage and support exceptional young achievers from across the state.

 

The first edition of ITC Sunfeast Supermilk ‘SUPERKIDS Award 2023’ was held at a glittering event at ITC Grand Chola. Mrs. Sneha Prasanna, the Brand Endorser, and Mr. Ali Harris Shere, Chief Operating Officer, Biscuits & Cakes Cluster, Foods Division, ITC Ltd., presented the trophies to the prodigies for their exceptional achievements in the respective fields.

 

The ‘SUPERKIDS2023’ recognized prodigies from various fields who have made both the state & the country proud with their  accomplishments.Gukesh D,best known as one of the youngest grandmasters in history, earned the Grand master title at the age of 12. In March last year, Gukesh became only the sixth Indian to break the 2700 Elo-rating mark, and the youngest Grandmaster from the country to do so. He recently defeated World Champion Magnus Carlsen. Lydian Nadhaswaram, a stellar musician who can play more than 20 instruments, represented India amongst 185 countries around the globe& won the CBS’ The World’s Best talent competition.

 

Vinisha Umashankar, an artist, a TEDx speaker, an innovator, and an environmentalist, is well-known for her innovation, the Solar Ironing Cart. She spoke at the UN Climate Change Conference COP26 in Glasgow. Prasiddhi Singh, a social entrepreneur and environmental activist, is the founder of the Prasiddhi Forest Foundation. At a tender age of 10, she is a Prime Minister National Child Awardee. Dr. PrishaK, youngest yoga teacher known for her inspirational work in teaching yoga to visually impaired individuals, holds many ‘world’s first’ titles  including youngest yoga teacher for blind certified by NCPCR central government, youngest most world record holder with 70 world records, youngest most honorary doctorate holder from USA and India, youngest author on yoga therapy, etc.

 

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Ali Harris Shere, Chief Operating Officer, Biscuits & Cakes Cluster, Foods Division, ITC Ltd.said, “It is important for children to be exposed to various fieldswhile growing up and then basis their affinity, be encouraged to follow their pursuits.We believe that a strong foundation helps children learn, grow and excel.  With this first edition of ITC Sunfeast Supermilk ‘SUPERKIDS Award', we embark on a journey to partner with children in their pursuit of excellence. It also serves as a platform to inspire and encourage many young talents to explore and hone their skills.” 

 

During the event, the prodigies were given a platform to share their journey of achievement. They spoke about the challenges they faced and what it took to pursue their dreams with dedication and passion.The awardees highlighted the importance of hard work, perseverance and a growth mindset in achieving success.The Superkids also emphasized on the constant support they received from their parents, highlighting the strength of upbringing that built their confidence and gave them a strong foundation.

 

The SUPERKIDS trophy awarded to the child prodigies is a symbol of recognition of their exceptional talent and dedication. Detailed profile of the child prodigies who were felicitated during the eventare:

 

Indian GM Dommaraju Gukesh is a young chess prodigy. He is best known as one of the youngest grandmasters in history. In January 2019, Gukesh earned the Grand Master title at 12 years, 7 months and 17 days of age—narrowly missing GM Sergey Karjakin’s record by 17 days. In March last year, Gukesh became only the sixth Indian to break the 2700 Elo-rating mark, and the youngest Grandmaster from the country to be rated above 2700.  He was recently honoured with Player-of-the-Year award by the Asian Chess Federation (ACF) for clinching the gold medal with a record-breaking score of 9/11 in the 44th Chess Olympiad at Mahabalipuram last year.

 

Lydian Nadhaswaram is a young Indian musician who is from Chennai. He plays more than 20 musical instruments. Lydian is the title winner of The CBS World’s Best Competition Season 1 in 2019. He represented India amongst 185 Countries around the globe and is also the first Indian musician to appear on the Ellen DeGeneres show & The Siempre Ninos Spanish tv show in Telemundo networks. Lydian has been a TED speaker & Performer for the past 5 years. The youngest solo pianist to play along with The Symphony Orchestra of India in 2019. Now he is a one and only student to Maestro Isaignani Ilaiyaraaja. He has won many accolades including, Saadhanai Thamizhan Award 2019, Vikatan Award, , Indian Book of Records for the youngest and fastest pianist and many more.

 

Prasiddhi Singh, is an entrepreneur and social activist. At the age of 10, she is a Prime Minister National Child Awardee (Highest Civilian Honor Under 18 years). She is the founder of the Prasiddhi Forest Foundation. The youngest Fruit Forest Creator of India-by-India book of Records. She is also the Brand Ambassador for the Nationwide Girl literacy campaign – “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao” by Tamil Nadu Government and a Child Ambassador of Green Tamil Nadu Mission. Prasiddhi is an advocate of biodiversity, she has created her own eco army of 36,000+ eco-warriors spread across the globe. Two times TEDx speaker, Prasiddhi is also the youngest keynote speaker of Harvard Model United Nations, India. Now she is working on Web3 Climate technology & Nature Based Solutions. She has won many awards and recognition including - The Diana Award - U.K (Highest & Prestigious global accolade for social Action & Humanitarian efforts), among others.

 

Vinisha Umashankar, is a Grade 11 student, an artist, a TEDx speaker, an innovator,and an environmentalist. She is well-known for her innovation, the Solar Ironing Cart. She was the only school student and the youngest Earthshot Prize 2021 finalist. She spoke at the UN Climate Change Conference COP26 in Glasgow. At the World Leaders' Summit, her five-minute speech went viral on social media and 30 million views. Vinisha advocates change through innovation.

 

DR. K. Prisha is the world's first youngest yoga teacher for blind certified by NCPCR central government,holder of 70world records, honorary doctorate holder from USA and India, world's first youngest author on yoga therapy. Prisha hasrepresented India in International yoga competitions held at Malaysia and Thailand and won Gold medaland world championship. Prisha has participated in district, state, national, international yogacompetitions and won more than 200 gold medals.She has received numerous awards such as Global child prodigyaward, AbdulKalam Award, Annai Teresa award to name a few.
